# Reforest Radar

Reforest Radar is a Chrome new-tab extension prototype for a simple forest map demo.

## Product Definition

Reforest Radar replaces the Chrome new tab page with one dated forest-loss source image, a 10 by 10 local demo grid, and source/limitation text. Users can mark local demo squares and copy a source note. The MVP does not claim that clicking plants a tree.

## Privacy

The MVP stores marked demo-square counts in Chrome local extension storage. It does not collect browsing history, page content, search terms, or telemetry.

## Limitations

- One dated source image in the MVP, not a current map.
- No real planting claim until a named forest partner, receipt trail, and monitoring language are connected.
- Included imagery is a dated NASA Earth Observatory source image.
- Forest loss is broader than confirmed human-caused deforestation.
